A steadfastly independent local vet, Johnny Irish MA VetMB MRCVS has practised in Kensington and Chelsea for over 20 years. Trusted and relied on by generations of local and international animal-lovers, Johnny’s experience and expertise spans a lifetime devoted to caring for animals all over the world.
A little bit of history…
Johnny’s Cambridge University qualifications led him to serve as a veterinary surgeon in the military. His service above-and-beyond the daily care of the Armed Forces’ dogs and horses included remarkable high-profile missions; Horses from the Spanish riding school in Vienna rescued and repatriated from Bosnia, and, whilst in Hong Kong, Johnny was the commanding officer of 120 Hong Kong Chinese dog-handling soldiers patrolling the border with China.

Johnny became a vet not only as a result of his unwavering love for animals but also because of the richness and depth of veterinary science as an academic study. As a result of Johnny’s fascination of animals, he has devoted his life and career to their care.
Caring for clients is as important to Johnny as caring for their beloved pets. Taking the time to understand the personal and unique situation and perspective of each pet owner is intrinsic to the ethos of the practice.
Kensington Veterinary Care’s non-corporate and independent status as a veterinary practice allows its clients the luxury of 1:1 time with Johnny or his revered team with a personal approach to bespoke treatment planning .
Valuing client relationships, animal well-being and positive outcomes overall, our veterinary practitioners take the time to explore all treatment options, working closely with owners to choose the right path. We see diagnosis and treatment as a collaboration between owner and veterinary practitioner.
