An Export Health Certificate is a UK Government-issued document for non-EU travel that confirms that your pet meets the health requirements of your destination country. If you are in England, Scotland, or Wales, you will need to complete the application form for an EHC (EXA1).
Each country has a unique EHC, you can use the government form finder to find the right one for your travel. The EHC and EXA1 for each country and pet will explain how to apply.
We recommend that you start researching the requirements for your chosen destination well in advance of your travel dates.
Some countries have strict requirements for entry, which can mean you need to start preparing months in advance.
Similarly, to an Animal Health Certificate, an EHC needs the help of an Official Veterinarian (OV), once you have found the one to apply for. You need to nominate an OV who will be sent the Export Health Certificate to check and issue.
Both our veterinarians are qualified as Official Veterinarians (OVs) which means that they have been authorised by the government to carry out pet travel procedures such as Export Health Certificates. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with these requirements.
